When working a stitch that has rows which change direction (most often for a woven effect), stitch in the direction of the slant. For example: If the stitch slants from lower left to upper right, travel from left to right across the canvas and vice versa.

If you’re working a stitch that’s new to you, hold off on compensation until you’ve worked a couple of rows. You’ll then be familiar with the stitch, and able to visualize how it should be compensated. Unless you’re working with an overdyed thread, you can come back and do all the compensation last.

The eye of the needle has a convex and a concave side. If you’re having difficulty threading, turn the needle over.

The 2nd annual Stitch and Pitch will be on August 5th @7:05.  This is a great time to combine to of the great American past times, baseball and the Needlearts.  You can buy tickets either from Stacey or directly from the Phillies box office.  Last year over 1500 stitchers showed up.  This year,  awesome door prizes will be raffled off throughout the game.  It is a great place to bring your family, as well as, a great place to meet other stitchers and have a great time.

I hope to see everyone there,
